Finally, Michigan Fires Rich Rodriguez; AD Doesn't See Jim Harbaugh With Wolverines

Finally, Michigan made a decision. Rich Rodriguez was fired as Michigan football coach today. "I believe this is the best decision for the future of Michigan football," Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said. "We have not achieved at the level that I expect. Rich is a good person and coach. It's unfortunate that it didn't work out at Michigan, but I'm sure that Rich and his staff will find opportunities at other institutions. I wish Rich and his family all the best in the future."

Brandon also said he doesn't believe Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh would be the team's next head coach, saying he sees Harbaugh coaching in the NFL next. Brandon has spoken to Harbaugh, however, and says he will continue to.

Harbaugh's brother, Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, also doesn't see a Michigan connection. "I think the Michigan thing is done now. I think that's over," Harbaugh said on WBAL radio. "I don't think he's going to have anything to do with that. I think that says a lot about Stanford."
